CTE might not be the only thing hurting football players...

It is no secret anymore that football has been having detrimental effects on the human body. More specifically the brain. But did you know that it could potentially be more dangerous to those who never step foot on the field? It has the potential to be harming the brains of those who do not even put on the pads.
It is no wonder why Ohio States Head Coach, Urban Meyer decided it was time to hang up the headset and call it quits.
In previous years Meyer, 54, has had severe damages to his brain. Meyer had surgery in 2014 to help relieve the pressure the cyst was having on his brain.
"An arachnoid cyst is a fluid-filled sac that occurs on a membrane that covers the brain and spinal cord, according to the National Organization for Rare Disorders. Symptoms do not always occur but common ones include headaches, seizures and the build-up of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain, according to the NORD," said Max Filby from the Dayton Daily News.
While this type of surgery is very crucial to his over-all well being, doctors highly recommended that he did the best he could to remain stress free.
So continuing to be Ohio State head coach in the most violent game sounds like a good idea, right?
If you tuned in November 17 to the Ohio State vs. Maryland game you might have noticed how uncomfortable Meyer looked. The head coach was seen countless times bent over and grabbing his head. In a real barn burner of a game Meyer was flaming with furious emotions. From snap to whistle Meyer was red to the face. I imagine his cyst was growing quite rapidly. The only thing Urban could do was try to cover it up, which I heard he's good at.
Meyer has had quite the coaching career. He is the only head coach to have multiple national titles with different teams [Florida and Ohio State]. He is 11-3 in any Bowl game as well as 2-1 in the College Football Playoffs. Meyer will end his coaching tenure with Ohio State this January following the annual Rose Bowl game with number 9 ranked Washington. It will be a Big10 vs. Pac12 conference game. The stress might be overwhelming for Meyer but he just has to take it one step at a time.
Who knows, maybe he will be back to coach. He might just have to use his head on that one.
